Position Summary:

The Wellness Center at Rollins College is looking for dedicated, service oriented, and collaborative Nurse Practitioners to join their team on a temporary basis. This posting is a continuous recruitment effort to create a pipeline of interested nurse practitioners to assist in the event the Wellness Center needs additional support during the COVID-19 pandemic. Submitted applications will be reviewed as positions become available. 

The Nurse Practitioner will provide student clinical services and consultation, along with COVID-19 testing to the Rollins community (students, faculty and staff). Primary responsibilities include:

  • Provides COVID testing for students.
  • Maintains currency of licensure, certification, and continuing education.
  • Provides high-quality care that focuses on assessment, health management, education, advocacy, and prevention.
  • Conducts physical exams, prescribes medication, diagnoses and treats illness, interprets lab tests, and discusses healthcare options with patients/students.
  • Communicates effectively with patients/students about their diagnosis and treatment options.
  • Maintains documentation of patient care through appropriate, accurate, and complete medical records.
  • Devises, implements and evaluates plans of care utilizing sound clinical judgments based on assessment of the physical, psychological, emotional, societal and environmental needs of the clients.
  • Consults, refers and collaborates with other disciplines involved in the delivery of total patient care.
  • Maintains documentation of patient care through appropriate, accurate, and complete medical records.
  • Provides other health care providers with necessary and/or allowable information to assist in continuity or transfer of care.
  • Follows confidentiality standards, treating all client/patient information as confidential and protecting the privacy and confidentiality of our clients/patients.

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Nurse Practitioner (NP) certification with minimum 1-2 years of clinical experience.
  • Must possess and maintain State of Florida license in accordance with Florida State Statute.
  • Ability to work with, relate to, and understand the health care needs of the college student population.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to interact with students, staff, administration and faculty.
  • Must be able to perform women's and reproductive health exams.
  • Ability to collaborate with professional colleagues as necessary to provide quality care.
  • Decision-making and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Working Environment:

  • Office environment and community outreach (e.g. residential halls).
  • Work requires physical strain, use of computer.
  • Involve working with human blood, body fluids, tissues, or other potentially infectious materials.
  • Overtime may be as asked.
