Position Summary:

The Director of Enterprise Applications is responsible for providing the leadership role for the Enterprise Application support functions, this includes Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and other administrative applications that support the operational efficiencies within Rollins College and being responsible for their effective and efficient operation and functional development.  

Primary responsibilities include: 

  • Lead members of the Enterprise Application Team and provide a positive working environment.
  • Partners with campus stakeholders to assess, prioritize, and manage stakeholder needs regarding the ERP (Banner) and other administrative applications to ensure system investments meet business requirements.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for the College’s data governance and IT governance efforts.
  • Take responsibility for development and continuous improvement of enterprise-wide applications that support the administrative functions of the College, including all ERP applications.
  • Manage implementation and integration of system and technology initiatives, in alignment with strategic and operational goals.
  • Analyze requirements and develop functional and design specifications.
  • Recommend and implement system and technology solutions and improvements.
  • Provide technical support to campus stakeholders and assist in maximizing technology usage and investment.
  • Monitor and ensures diagnosis and resolution of Incidents and/or Service Requests in accordance with SLA timelines.
  • Develop, recommend and document plans, policies, standards, procedures and checklists.
  • Responsible for enabling and holding assigned staff accountable for upholding the Rollins Service Philosophy & Standards.
  • Ensures team members stay current with new technologies, trends and best practices in the IT industry, in order to advise on any new or emerging technologies that fits within the overall Technology strategy.

Education and Experience Required:
  • College degree required; graduate degree preferred.
  • Oracle database administration experience.
  • Extensive programming experience.
  • Five plus years of project management experience and staff management experience.
  • Ability to supervise and mentor professional staff members to produce a strong team-oriented environment.
  • Skilled in creating a successful customer-focused team environment.
  • Experience in higher education preferred.
  • Knowledge of the following programming languages is preferred: Oracle: SQL, PL/SQL, SQL*PLUS, SQL*Loader, MySQL: SQL, HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, ASP, Unix shell scripting and C.
  • Experience implementing and managing higher ed administrative systems (preferably Ellucian Banner, Hyland OnBase, etc…).
  • Proficient at managing knowledge workers using project timelines.
  • Ability to manage a complex workload, set priorities and use good judgment in managing projects.
  • Strong willingness to learn new technologies and lead change.
  • Demonstrated capability of negotiating enterprise licensing and support agreements.
  • Working knowledge of application development methodologies (Agile/Scrum preferred).
  • Experience in business process improvement.
  • Demonstrated practical and logical troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative leadership style.
  • Ability to work with peers within and outside of Information Technology to solve campus problems and provide excellent customer service.

Work Environment:

 

  • Working in-person on campus in an office environment.
  • Typical work hours are Monday - Friday; however this role requires flexibility, including some evening/weekend hours and regular and emergency call-out as needed.
