Position Summary:

Rollins College is seeking two part-time Accessibility Services Coordinators with a strong service orientation. The Accessibility Services Coordinators report directly to the Director of Accessibility Services in order to perform administrative work including working with students, faculty, Accessibility Services and Information Technology to proctor testing, provide note-taking accommodations, and other accommodations to students with disabilities.

Work in collaboration with the Coordinator Team to:

  • Manage the day to day functions of accommodated testing services including overseeing, implementing, and coordinating exam times, spaces and technology.
  • Work with students and faculty to provide responsive, respectful, and collaborative testing support services.
  • Maintain testing accommodations that ensure test credibility and privacy.
  • Proctor tests, scribe and act as reader as needed.
  • Coordinate note-taking accommodations by managing our note-taking technologies.
  • Manage the alternative format textbook accommodation.
  • Provide training for and track loans of smart pens, audio recorders, and other assistive technology.
  • Work one-on-one with students with academic warnings to ensure they are utilizing their accommodations.
  • Work one-on-one with students to develop stronger executive functioning skills.
  • Meet with students to answer questions about their accommodations and provide care and support.
  • Communicate with faculty members in regard to testing and support needs.
  • Answer the department phone line and department email.
  • Supervise the staff of student workers.
  • Performs related duties as required/needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field is required.
  • Experience working with students with disabilities in a higher education setting is desired.
  • Candidates pursuing their graduate degree at Rollins College or University of Central Florida are preferred.
  • Knowledge of the needs of higher education students with disabilities.
  • Ability to foster working relationships with both on and off campus parties.
  • Ability to respectfully communicate, collaborate and relate to students with disabilities.
  • Knowledge of distraction-free testing protocols.
  • Knowledge of alternative text formats and the steps needed to deliver them to eligible students.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the Universal Design model.
  • Knowledge and experience in training student populations.
  • Knowledge of Assistive Technology implementation and best practices.
  • Willingness to undergo regular training in new Assistive Technology devices, practices and protocols.
  • Some technical knowledge is needed for troubleshooting underperforming hardware and software.

Work Schedule:

Anticipated Start Date: August 9, 2021

This is a part-time position working less than 1,000 hours/year. These positions will work approximately 30 hours per week.

Hourly Pay Rate:

The hourly pay rate is $15.00 and there are no benefits associated with these positions.
