Rollins is seeking a service oriented, energetic, creative and forward thinking Coordinator for Academic Advising and Rollins Gateway Support! The Coordinator for Academic Advising and Rollins Gateway Support is responsible for the day-to-day programmatic needs, operations and administrative functions that will enable a connected, organized, integrated and intentional environment that develops global citizens and responsible leaders.

Primary Job 
Responsibilities:

  • Provides support to Associate Dean of Advising and Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs & Community for program needs including scheduling, coordinating institutional events, educational experiences, assessment, storytelling/marketing, resource management, budget management and student participation.
  • Supports the Associate Dean of Advising in management of Academic Warnings for students, including tracking warnings, weekly meetings for triage and management, and referrals to appropriate staff and faculty.
  • Supports the Associate Dean of Advising and Director of Advising in management of academic probation and suspension processes, including maintaining records, making appointments with advising staff, and handling correspondence.
  • Provides occasional administrative support for Director of Fellowships Advising and Business Advisor for event scheduling, purchases, budget processes.
  • Collaborates with Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs & Community on strategic operational committees by providing administrative coordination and support for student experience, emergency/life safety, procedures manual, navigation, art, program synergy, sustainability, and the program leadership team for Kathleen W. Rollins Hall & Rollins Gateway.
  • Hires, trains, and manages student workers for Rollins Gateway and Kathleen W. Rollins Hall (between 8-10 students to support operations, meet and greet and student engagement by developing a unified student experience plan in partnership with all staff and faculty in program and building).
  • Performs other relevant departmental duties as assigned.
Minimum 
Qualifications:

 

  • At least two(2) years of project management, coordination and administrative professional experience.
  • Experience working with, and deep appreciation for, working alongside diverse populations.
  • Strong computer skills and comfort with new technology (as an end user, trainer and problem-solver).
  • Knowledge of basic graphic design (InDesign, Photoshop, Canva, etc.) for creating promotional materials.
  • Demonstrated experience with supervision, budget and resource management.
  • Ability to handle confidential student records with respect and discretion.
  • Highly organized, detailed and able to flourish in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and needs.
  • Friendly, service-oriented and mission-driven.
  • Ability to perform tasks and focus in a highly engaging and active environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement programmatic initiatives from ideation to execution.
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity and scale efforts.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills demonstrated through facilitation, proposals writing, grants, promotional materials and correspondence.
Preferred 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Project management, coordination and professional administrative experience in a higher education setting.
  • Training or experience with marketing, messaging and developing written content for public consumption.

Work Schedule:

The Coordinator for Academic Advising and Rollins Gateway Support is scheduled to work 7.5 hours/day, 37.5 hours per week. The schedule for this role is:

  • Monday-Friday, 8:30am and 5:00pm*

*Flexible schedules or overtime may be required to meet the demands of the academic calendars.

Work Environment:

 

  • Campus-based position working in an office environment.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
