Position Summary:

Want to change the world while educating eager minds? The Department of Environmental Studies is seeking an interdisciplinary teacher/scholar with a background in environmental history and/or environmental literature for the position of Visiting Assistant Professor (two-year appointment), beginning August 2022.

The teaching load is four classes per semester and the successful candidate will teach core courses for the major in environmental history and environmental literature as well as introductory courses for non-majors that contribute to the college’s general education program. We seek a colleague who practices inclusive and engaged pedagogy to teach classes, lead field trips, and engage with our local community. A strong interest in Florida’s natural environment is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications and Education: 

  • A Ph.D. in a related field is required.
  • A record of outstanding teaching and a commitment to undergraduate education are required.
