Job Summary:

The Post-Award Grants Administrator (Compliance) performs a variety of work directly related to the acceptance and management of grant awards and sponsored project agreements at Rollins College. The position will provide administrative guidance and assistance to faculty and staff to facilitate research and sponsored program activity while ensuring compliance with sponsor guidelines and College policies and procedures. Reporting to the Director of Grants & Sponsored Research, the position will work collaboratively and professionally with faculty and staff from across the College to provide excellent customer service, support, and oversight for all non-accounting post-award grant administration and compliance activities.

  • Reviews and tracks terms and conditions of all grant awards and sponsored project agreements.
  • Completes award setup procedures and maintains proper documentation.
  • Initiates faculty, staff, and student personnel action forms and labor distribution requests on sponsored projects.
  • Manages effort reporting process for faculty, staff, and student grant effort.
  • Drafts, executes, and manages sub-award agreements.
  • Develops and maintains internal forms, tools, policies, procedures, and training materials necessary for the efficient and compliant management of awards.
  • Trains and assists principal investigators and project directors on institutional procedures for purchasing equipment, supplies, and services on grant-funded projects.
  • Engages in professional development activities to stay current with information regarding post-award grants management, research administration, and compliance issues.
  • Provides technical support to IRB, IACUC, and other related research compliance committees or post-award compliance areas for faculty members and students, as needed.

Minimum 
Qualifications & Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution.
  • A minimum of two years of related experience in grants management or research administration. (A Master’s or other advanced degree in a related or relevant field may substitute for years of related experience).
  • Knowledge of Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200), common sponsor guidelines (NSF, HHS/NIH, etc.), and related procurement and research administration policies and procedures.
  • Experience with basic grant budgeting/accounting methods and practices.
  • Ability to research, comprehend, and advise others on grant regulations and contractual language.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and organizational skills with careful attention to detail.
  • Comfortable communicating professionally with a diverse group individuals at various levels both within and outside the College.
  • Ability to perform independently and apply judgment, discretion, and initiative in recommending appropriate solutions to resolve problems.
  • Demonstrated skills with MS Office applications and Adobe.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a higher education setting.
  • Certification (CRA, CFRA) or experience in research administration.

Work Environment:

  • Greater Orlando campus-based position, working in an office environment, with eligibility for a full or partial remote work schedule, with the requirement to conduct in-person training activities on the Rollins College campus as needed.
  • Travel to appropriate professional development conferences or training opportunities is expected.

The Office of Grants & Sponsored Research works to further research, service, and scholarly activities among Rollins faculty and staff by helping them identify, secure, and manage external funding. The goal of the Office is to support programs that advance the mission and enhance the reputation of Rollins College while benefiting students, faculty, staff, and the greater community. External grants have funded student-faculty collaborative research, interdisciplinary faculty development projects, service-learning initiatives, and curriculum development projects.
