Job Summary:

The Rollins College Wellness Center is seeking four CAPS Counselors to join their team! Reporting to the Assistant Director/Coordinator of Counseling Clinical Services of the Wellness Center, CAPS Counselors provides direct clinical services, consultation, educational programming, and outreach to the campus community consistent with the Wellness Center’s mission, which is directed toward enhancing levels of wellness and empowering students to be self-directed in their own care.

  • Provides daily culturally competent mental health services to the Rollins College student population via crisis management; individual therapy, couples and group work; and community intervention/outreach.
  • Collaborates with other professionals and assists in case management.
  • Maintains accurate and complete clinical records.
  • Participates in, and provides, outreach and wellness promotion activities, workshops, trainings and/or events.
  • Represents the Wellness Center with professional demeanor and composure at outreach events and other meetings occurring both on and off-campus.
  • Exhibits exceptional customer service, professionalism, and team work in all aspects of work.
  • Supports the vision and mission of the Wellness Center.
  • Follows confidentiality standards, treating all client/patient information as confidential and protecting the privacy and confidentiality of our clients/patients.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications & Education:


  • Master’s or doctoral degree in social work, mental health counseling, or related field. 
  • Licensed or license-eligible in the state of Florida.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in mental health.
  • Previous or current work with college students.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse staff, faculty, and student population.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Dedication to and effectiveness in working as a team.
  • Conflict management and problem-solving ability.
  • Knowledge of professional ethical guidelines, including the maintenance of confidentiality.
  • Ability to perform under stressful situations.
  • Personal stress awareness and management.


Anticipated Employment Dates: August 1, 2022 - May 31, 2023

Schedule: CAPS Counselors will work approximately 20-25 hours per week, for a total of less than 1,000 hours per year. Scheduled hours per week will depend on operational needs. Availability and readiness to work during non-office hours (including nights, early mornings, and weekends) may be required as needed.

Compensation: The hourly rate is $25 and there are no benefits associated with this appointment.

Working Environment:

  • Front-facing customer service role on-campus. Office/community field environment work (e.g., residential halls).
  • Work requires visual strain, use of computer.
