Job Summary:

  • Perform daily tasks related to account maintenance and the configuration, monitoring and troubleshooting of enterprise systems
  • Implement new server instances and applications
  • Administer cloud/hybrid systems for email, file storage, directory, and licensing
  • Administer MDM, remote deployment and end point management tools
  • Utilize ITSM/ESM solution to coordinate support and change management
  • Utilize work management solution to track projects and non ticket tasks
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement technical enhancements and best practices to assure system integrity, security and service improvements
  • Work with application owners and application technical support to provide a stable and secure server environment through timely patching and upgrades
  • Interact with product vendors and subject matter consultants to resolve software and/or hardware issues
  • Create documentation for systems knowledgebase
  • Work with diverse stakeholders to include IT, faculty, staff, students, vendors
Qualifications and Education:


  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or other IT related discipline or equivalent experience typically gained through 1-3 years of enterprise systems administration
  • Basic networking, DNS, and DHCP knowledge
  • Basic knowledge of virtualized computing environments
  • Working knowledge of on prem/hybrid/cloud server operating systems
  • Familiarity with datacenter hardware and operations
  • Ability to execute CLI commands and scripting
  • Ability to analyze new software and systems and make recommendations on use case
  • Ability to act independently with minimum supervision in standard operating and problem-solving situations
  • Ability to understand, follow and communicate complex oral and written instructions
  • Superior detail orientation, with the ability to learn and work with new procedures, instructions and systems
  • Ability to develop a project plan and execute it in collaboration with project team members
  • Ability to learn new technologies and stay current with industry trends
  • Punctual and adheres to work schedules while effectively meeting deadlines
  • IT experience working in a higher education environment
Work Environment:


  • Campus-based position, working in an indoor office environment and outdoor working environment; required to carry work phone
  • Work requires visual strain, as well as occasional strenuous activity involving moderate lifting, bending, stooping, stretching, standing and walking
  • Typical work hours are Monday-Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm, but this role requires flexibility, including some evening/weekend/holiday hours and regular and emergency call-out as needed
