Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Director of Campus Safety & Security, responsible for the efficient performance of assigned garage operations duties and work order data entry tasks.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Collecting correct amounts due in cash from garage customers, interacting with building tenants, college students, contract customers, and the general public daily
  • Operating automated cash register and garage equipment (tracking power pad, ticket dispensers, and gate controls)
  • On a daily basis, reconciling cash drawer and receipts, and preparing bank deposit
  • Maintaining garage usage and parking violator records, generating daily, weekly, and monthly reports manually and entering into spreadsheet software; maintaining and updating spreadsheets
  • Maintaining professional appearance and organized, efficient workspace
  • Cleaning exterior of garage booth, access card readers, gate structures, and surrounding areas daily
  • Inspecting garage equipment daily and reporting malfunctions and preventive maintenance issues to the building technician; Replacing gates as needed
  • Recommending improvements to standard operating procedures
  • Cooperating with Campus Safety to enforce Rollins College and SunTrust Garage parking policies & procedures
  • Responding quickly to emergency situations (i.e. auto accidents, patron accidents, etc.) and customer concerns, notifying supervisor and documenting incident reports
  • Entering data into an automated work order system
  • Assisting in word processing, routine correspondence, maintaining and updating maintenance files, building files, warranties, contracts, and reports
  • Performing related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • High school plus 2 years related training and/or work experience in cash handling, data entry, and administrative activities involving the operation of word processing and spreadsheet software programs.
  • Cash handling experience with the ability to compute and collect charges and make change accurately
  • Computer literacy sufficient to operate automated cash register, perform data entry, and for the operation of standard word processing and spreadsheet softwareAbility to read, interpret, and follow detailed verbal and written instructions
  • Possession and practice of good organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to interact in a cordial, diplomatic, and professional manner with building tenants and guests, outside contractors and vendors, and work cooperatively as a team with other departmental colleagues
  • Skilled in the safe and efficient care and use of hand tools and equipment
  • Ability to work independently, without direct supervision
  • Demonstrated ability to be consistently punctual and attentive to very precise schedules

Physical Requirements:

  • Work in a small confined booth in the parking garage
  • Exposed to various weather conditions each day
  • Exposed to both vehicle noise and car exhaust fumes
  • Ability to sit for long periods at a computer is required; prolonged computer use can cause visual strain
  • Ability to perform a range of physical activities required in the performance of job duties including walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds to shoulder height
  • May be required to work varying shifts, weekends, days off, and overtime as required

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. at the time of employment.

The pay rate is $10.00 per hour. 

This position will work first shift (roughly 8:00am-4:00pm), approximately 2-3 days (16-20 hours) per week, Monday - Friday. Work hours per week will depend on availability and operational needs.

This is a part-time position working less than 1,000 hours/year.

There are no benefits associated with this position.
