Job Summary:
|
The Rollins College Athletics Department, a private NCAA Division II Institution, is accepting applications for a part-time Assistant Athletic Trainer. The Assistant Athletic Trainer must maintain a high regard for the welfare of all student athletes, and perform the duties of an Athletic Trainer which include: prevention, care, treatment, and rehabilitation of all injuries to several teams and multiple athletes.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Provide emergency and non-emergency care for athletic injuries and illness affecting athletes’ participation status.
- Evaluate and treat injuries and illness within the scope of the practice of athletic training as
defined by Florida law.
- Communicate (within legal guidelines) the participation status of athletes to their coaches
and the Associate Athletic Director for Sports Medicine.
- Consult with coaches on safe and effective training strategies.
- Supervise Athletic Training Students.
- Design and supervise rehabilitation and reconditioning programs.
- Maintain records and produce reports.
- Maintain cleanliness of Athletic Training facilities.
- Maintain certification and licensure through continuing education.

Minimum Qualifications & Education: |
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Athletic Training
- NATABOC certification
- Possess a Florida Athletic Trainers License, or are eligible to obtain one

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: |
- American Red Cross certified in First Aid, CPR-PR, AED.
- Rollins College is a member of the NCAA Division II.
- Any person working with an NCAA team must abide by the prescribed guidelines outlined in the NCAA manual.
- Rollins is a member of the Sunshine State Conference.
- Understand and abide by the conference standards approved by the conference office with regard to providing athletic training assistance to other conference athletes at the home team site.
- Any person representing Rollins College Athletics is expected to maintain proper appearance and conduct themselves in a professional manner.

Additional Position Information:
|
Work Schedule: The Assistant Athletic Trainer role is scheduled to work approximately 20 hours per week and for a total of or fewer than 1,000 hours per year. The schedule will depend on availability and department needs with the ability to work flexible hours.
Pay Rate: Rollins offers a competitive hourly rate and there are no benefits associated with this position.

Work Environment:
|
- Campus-based, front-facing customer service position, working in fast paced and high-energy work environment.
- Ability to work many nights and weekends during the sports season.
- Ever-changing schedules and media needs associated with intercollegiate athletics; including evenings and weekends as appropriate and required.
- Work may require some visual strain.
