Summary:

Unlock your professional potential! The Rollins College Hamilton Holt School is seeking a Director of Student Services to join their team! Under the direction and supervision of the Dean of the Hamilton Holt School, the Director of Student Services provides leadership and coordination for implementing the strategic initiatives and day-to-day operations of Student Services. The Director provides leadership and management for academic advising, orientation, student events, and service programs that support the educational mission of the college.

This position requires a combination of academic expertise and administrative management skills that include strategic planning; needs assessment; technology integration; budget and financial management; management of high performing team, communication and collaboration with other Rollins units, students, and faculty; advisement on admissions and appeals; and service to the Rollins community.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Student Services
    • Manages and benchmarks activities related to Holt student events, including new Student orientation, welcome/end of year receptions, and commencement ceremonies.
    • Creates new initiatives to support student satisfaction and retention of students, including workshops, special events, and general advisement events.
    • Brings student issues to the attention of the Holt Dean as appropriate. Identifies academic policy needs and areas for potential program alignment, collaborating with the Holt Dean for policy creation/review.
    • Liaises with the Office of the Registrar regarding enrollment processes that affect Holt students, including registration, catalog maintenance, degree audit scribing, and graduation clearance of Holt students.
    • Attends campus and community events to support undergraduate and graduate programs; develops relationships with other units on campus.
    • Liaises with DEIB leadership on campus and supports diverse Holt students.
  • Strategic Planning Support
    • Supports retention and assessment efforts.
    • Establishes evaluation metrics and key performance indicators.
    • Creates social media and communication plans and innovative student support ideas.
    • Establishes ongoing means for detecting inefficiencies in the advisement workflow and plans.
  • Technology
    • Maintains portions of the Holt School website related to student services.
    • Incorporates technology-mediated communication as necessary when supporting students a showing mastery of software involved in the student services process.
  • General Holt Management/Support
    • Supervises academic advisors, work study students, and peer mentors.
    • Leads continuous improvement process and is responsible for evaluating and managing all aspects of department’s operations.
    • Produces quarterly and annual reports regarding student services activities and outcomes.
    • Serves on college committees to represent the Holt School.
    • Attends professional development conferences as needed to keep abreast of developments in the student services field.
    • Supports Holt team, by taking on other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications & Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a college student services position, including experience using common college administrative and operational software.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain collaborative and effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and administration.
  • Ability to effectively communicate ideas and information.
  • Understanding of student services based on the belief that the academic and non-academic lives of students are inextricably linked.
  • Demonstrated ability to support diverse students and a commitment to supporting an environment where diverse students thrive.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree
  • Experience working with adult learners

Work Environment:

  • In-person, campus-based position working in an office environment.
  • Work requires some visual strain due to work on computer.
