Position Summary:
|
The primary function of the Graduate Admission Counselor is to manage and optimize the graduate admission process within the Holt School. This includes the execution of the written recruitment strategy, management of prospects throughout the enrollment funnel from inquiry to enrolled student. As a member of the Admissions team, the graduate admission counselor is expected to be knowledgeable about all Hamilton Holt School programs, able to interact with prospects and recruits, and represent the department as needed at recruitment events and lead information sessions. This position reports to the Director of Admissions.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Attend all graduate program recruitment initiatives and serve as the main admission representative.
- Process application materials, review applications, counsel assigned applicants from inquiry through registration, and ensure timely admission decisions.
- Attend expos, fairs, conferences, information sessions, and other recruitment-related events, engaging prospective students and school representatives and making presentations about the Hamilton Holt School.
- Conduct outreach via phone, email, text and in person to nurture applicants through the enrollment funnel.
- Ensure all inquiries and new student data are accurately entered into the CRM.
- Work closely with student services staff to ensure seamless new student orientation process.
- Actively participate in all aspects of new student recruitment and enrollment processes.
- Assist admission team with planning and organizing admission-related events.

Minimum Qualifications & Education:
|
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University or College.
- Possess a valid driver’s license, or ability to obtain a Florida driver's license within 30 days of accepting the job, and acceptable motor vehicle record.
|
Preferred Qualifications:
|
- Master’s degree from an accredited University or College.
- Experience working in admissions and/or recruiting.
- Knowledge and experience with student information systems (i.e. Slate).
|
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
|
- Knowledge of graduate enrollment planning, recruitment and communication strategies.
- Must have excellent grammatical and editing skills, as well as verbal and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with individuals at all levels.
- Must have ability to work in a team oriented environment.
- Ability to take responsibility for assigned projects from beginning to completion with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of database management software, computer operations systems, reporting tools and web-based application. Proficiency with related software such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel. Data access and reporting skills.
- Excellent knowledge and practice of organizational and time management skills; attention to detail and follow through. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to interact with internal and external customers in a professional manner using good business etiquette.
- Strong cross-cultural, cross-generational, and interpersonal and communication skills are necessary.

Work Environment:
|
- Campus-based, front-facing customer service position, working in an office environment with other staff members.
- Regular use of a computer and databases.
- Must be able to travel and participate in work-related events (local, domestic and international).
- Must be able to work flexible hours which includes evenings and weekends based on business needs.
