The Rollins College Athletics Department welcomes applications for a Men's & Women’s Swimming Assistant Coach! The Assistant Men’s and Women’s Swimming Coach reports to the Head Men’s and Women’s Swimming Coach and is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in carrying out all activities necessary to accomplish the objectives of this sport within the guidelines of the NCAA, Sunshine State Conference and Rollins College.
Primary Responsibilities
- Coordinate activities through the Head Coach, including, but not limited to:
- Recruiting - Identify prospective student-athletes who meet Rollins College’s academic standards; contacting (email, phone, mail, social media) prospective recruits, families, and coaches; arrange campus visits for recruits; and develop recruiting materials.
- On-deck coaching to swimming student athletes.
- Strength training and conditioning.
- Data collection and management.
- Travel arrangements, budget management, and equipment tracking..
- Counsel student athletes in sport participation, personal development, and monitor student-athlete academic success.
- Assist in fundraising for men’s and women’s swimming.

Minimum Qualifications & Education:
|
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited University or College.
- Possess a valid driver’s license, or ability to obtain a Florida driver's license within 30 days of accepting the job, and acceptable motor vehicle record.
|
Preferred Qualifications:
|
- Master’s Degree.
- Coaching experience at the collegiate level.
- Lifeguard/CPR/AED Certification.
|
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
|
- Proven record of integrity, high principles and demonstrated skill in developing and motivating student athletes academically and athletically.
- Ability to efficiently operate associated computer software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Compliance Assistant, FrontRush, HyTek Team Manager, HyTek Meet Manager, etc.).
- Ability to work effectively in the environment of an academically demanding liberal arts institution and abide by all NCAA Division II, Sunshine State Conference and institutional policies.
- Ability to interact in an effective and appropriate manner with diverse populations, the college community and the public. Interactions will include in-person contact and written communication.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to achieve certification to drive student-athletes to team athletic events.
- Exemplify leadership in the management of a successful collegiate swimming program. Desire to pursue a career in collegiate coaching.

Work Environment:
|
- In-person, campus-based position.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends during the sports season.
- Flexible to ever changing schedule and media needs associated with intercollegiate athletics.
- Work may require some visual strain.
- Ability to lift objects of 50 lbs.
- This role requires travel to attend competitions and team events. Candidates should be prepared for occasional travel as part of their responsibilities.
