Summary:

The Rollins College Athletics Department welcomes applications for a Women's Lacrosse Assistant Coach! The Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting the Head Coach in carrying out all activities necessary to accomplish the objectives of this sport within the guidelines of the NCAA, Sunshine State Conference (SSC), and Rollins College.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist in recruiting, instructing, and retaining highly skilled student-athletes for the women’s lacrosse team.
  • Provide instruction to lacrosse student-athletes on the fundamentals, details, and strategies of women’s lacrosse as outlined by the Head Coach.
  • Adhere to all policies and regulations of the Director of Athletics, Rollins College, SSC, and NCAA.
  • Assist with the marketing and promotion of lacrosse.
  • Instruct, assist and support student athletes in sport participation, personal development, and academics.
  • Work with the Admissions Office to enroll student-athletes.
  • Assist with fundraising in both lacrosse and with major fundraisers in the Athletic Department.
  • Assist Head Coach in developing game strategies.
  • Scout opponents either at games or by reviewing game film.
  • Work summer camps and recruiting camps.

Minimum Qualifications & Education:

  • Playing and/or coaching experience at the collegiate level.
  • A proven record of integrity, high principles, and demonstrated skill in developing and motivating student athletes academically and athletically.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, or ability to obtain a Florida driver's license within 30 days of accepting the job, and acceptable motor vehicle record.

Proffered Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited University or College. 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to travel and recruit student athletes.
  • Computer skills essential with knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and Teamworks recruiting platform.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively in the environment of an academically demanding liberal arts institution and abide by all NCAA Division II, Sunshine State Conference and institutional policies
  • Ability to maintain open communication with the athletic trainer and team physician and protect the safety and well-being of their athletes through proper conditioning, skills training, and game conduct

Work Environment:

  • In-person, campus-based position.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends during the sports season.
  • Flexible to ever changing schedule and media needs associated with intercollegiate athletics.
  • Work may require some visual strain.
  • This role requires travel to attend competitions and team events. Candidates should be prepared for occasional travel as part of their responsibilities.
