From its inception, the Olin Library has been an integral part of the instructional, intellectual, and cultural life of Rollins College ... And now you can be part of it to! The Rollins College Olin Library is seeking a dependable and service-oriented Circulation Specialist to join their team!
The primary duty of the Circulation Specialist includes staffing the circulation desk, checking-out materials, assisting users in utilizing library systems, and providing a friendly face to members of the Rollins community. Off-desk duties may include billing, shelving, collection maintenance, data entry, interlibrary loan processing, Fox FabLab (makerspace) leadership, and monitoring the building’s security and facility issues.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Entering user and item information into the electronic database.
- Performing online transactions such as check-in/check-out of library materials, reserve materials, library rooms, etc.
- Maintaining orderly library collection, including shelving materials, shelf-reading, labeling, and identifying materials for mending/binding.
- Providing general information and assistance to library users.
- Maintaining records of fines and bills, collecting fines, and is responsible for accurate handling of petty cash.
- Maintaining files and collecting data from operations as directed.
- Supervising and training student workers.
- Performing daily opening and closing operations for the library, including locking and unlocking of the building.
- Maintaining security for the library, responding to emergency door alarms, and evacuating the building in the event of emergency.
- Providing leadership for the Fox FabLab (library makerspace).
- Processing and filling interlibrary loan requests from Rollins users.

Minimum Qualifications & Education:
|
- High school education is required.
- Requires at least two years of job related library, administrative, or customer service experience.
|
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
|
- Knowledge of the organization of the library, along with basic library procedures and policies.
- Skill in the use of a variety of computer software used in the library system.
- Ability to read and understand alphabetic and numeric characters rapidly and accurately.
- Demonstrated ability to employ strong customer service skills to provide friendly, approachable, responsive customer service at the library’s main service desk.
- Ability to follow written/oral instructions and work independently.

Work Schedule:
|
- The Circulation Specialist is a full-time, 12-month appointment, scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week, for a total of 1,950 hours annually.
- Work hours are typically 7:30am-4:00pm, Tuesday to Friday and Saturday 10:45am-7:15pm (Sunday and Monday off). Schedule will be discussed during the interview process as summer hours will vary.
- Overtime, evening and/or weekend work may be required to support programs and department needs.
