Position Summary:

The Office of International Programs at Rollins College is seeking a Graduate Assistant to join their team! The Graduate Assistant in the Office of International Programs is a fully integrated member of the International Programs team, assisting with ongoing work in the office with an emphasis on program management and administration and student outreach and advising. The Graduate Assistant will manage a portfolio of travel-based programs, participate in class visits and other outreach activities, serve as a general study abroad advisor and assist with projects to enhance and improve programming and student learning. The ideal candidate has strong organizational and communication skills, an interest in international education and global learning, and is willing to assist wherever necessary to ensure the success of the office.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • For Non-Rollins summer and short-term programs and Rollins Affiliated International Travel: advise students and help them identify programs aligned with their goals; promote program options and scholarships; oversee the process with International Programs including program, prepare and send pre-departure materials to students and support students as they prepare to go abroad. Coordinate with faculty/staff leaders as needed to collect information and provide them with materials and support prior to travel.
  • For specific Crummer Graduate School of Business travel courses and College of Liberal Arts domestic travel courses: manage all program processes including building programs, coordinating with faculty leaders, notifying students, collecting materials, preparing program leader packets and materials and preparing and sending pre-departure materials and information to students.
  • Provide weekly peer advising hours for study abroad. Advising areas include: semester, summer and short-term study abroad programs, abroad eligibility requirements, application processes, deadlines, registration, credit transfer, billing, financial aid and scholarships, and office services, policies, and procedures.
  • Lead pre-departure orientations for semester, summer and short-term study abroad programs.
  • Conduct class visits to promote study abroad including visits to first-year seminar courses and courses within targeted majors and areas (i.e. Business Management, Global Languages and Cultures, etc.). Promote study abroad to prospective students at Admissions events.
  • Support larger projects and initiatives to improve general office operations, improve programs, and enhance student learning. Projects will be designed by the supervisor and Graduate Assistant to target areas of growth or interest.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities with the team in the Office of International Programs including weekly team meetings, webinars, strategic luncheons, and team retreats.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others including faculty/staff program leaders and the other members of the International Programs team.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft office.
  • Positive attitude and the ability to adapt and learn quickly.

Education Requirement:

Candidates interested in this role must be actively enrolled in a graduate degree-seeking program in order to qualify for this position, and must remain actively enrolled in a graduate degree seeking program for the duration of their employment in this position.

Position Information:

Anticipated Employment Dates: August 11 to December 15, 2025 and January 12 to May 8, 2026. Exact start and end dates for each semester are negotiable. Renewable for a second year for continuing graduate students.

Schedule: 20 hours per week. The exact schedule will be determined by the supervisor and the selected candidate; however, you must be able to work at least three days a week. Most hours are during regular business hours (9:00am to 5:00pm) but the GA does cover occasional weekend and evening events.

Work Environment:
Office setting and occasional bending/lifting/twisting.


Pay: The hourly pay rate is $15/hr. and there are no benefits associated with this position.
