Job Summary:

The Rollins College Athletics Department welcomes applications for a Softball Assistant Coach! As an assistant coach, you'll support the head coach in managing all aspects of the team, from academic performance and recruiting to training and community engagement. You'll play a key role in developing player skills, organizing camps, and coordinating team logistics. Be part of a dynamic environment where you can make a difference both on and off the field.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist the head coach in managing all aspects of the NCAA Division II softball program in accordance with NCAA, Sunshine State Conference, and Rollins College regulations
- Assist in monitoring the academic performance of softball student-athletes
- Assist in the administration of all aspects of the softball program, including day-to-day administrative and operational responsibilities
- Scout/recruit prospective softball student-athletes, coordinate campus visits, and coordinate the recruiting schedule for staff
- Prepare reports and evaluate players
- Assist in all season (pre-, in-, and post-) trainings, practices, and games
- Assist in organizing all Rollins Softball summer camps
- Serve as primary contact for prospect and summer youth camps
- Assist with game and practice scheduling
- Assist with softball fundraising and promotional activities
- Initiate, coordinate, and participate in fundraising and community engagement activities
- Develop player skills and provide coaching for student-athletes for specific position groups
- Analyze games and practices, and develop strategies to improve team performance
- Assist in coordinating team travel arrangements and logistics.

Minimum Qualifications & Education:
|
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited University or College.
- At least 3 years of coaching experience.
- Possess a valid driver’s license, or ability to obtain a Florida driver's license within 30 days of accepting the job, and acceptable motor vehicle record.
|
Preferred Qualifications:
|
- Coaching experience at the collegiate level.
|
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
|
- Knowledge of softball fundamentals
- Knowledge of recruiting processes, identifying potential talent, and maintaining a network of contacts.
- Ability to work effectively in the environment of an academically demanding liberal arts institution and abide by all NCAA Division II, Sunshine State Conference and institutional policies
- Ability to maintain open communication with the athletic trainer and team physician and protect the safety and well-being of their athletes through proper conditioning, skills training, and game conduct

Work Environment:

- In-person, campus-based position
- Ability to work evenings and weekends during the sports season
- Flexible to ever changing schedule and media needs associated with intercollegiate athletics
