Position Summary:

As a member of the Advancement Services team, the Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for support in delivery of information to advance the mission of the College. This position uses the Advancement system and data warehouse along with knowledge of the data to produce informational assets to include: in-depth analysis, reports, lists, charts and dashboards that assist stakeholders across the college with engaging alumni and raising private funds. Consults with end-users to analyze their ongoing needs and develop reliable solutions and is an active participant in the development of analytics to evaluate advancement metrics. This position reports to the Strategic Data & Technology Manager.

Primary responsibilities include: 

  • Experienced in developing and providing accurate and timely reports to support Institutional Advancement operations. Preferred technology experience - SQL coding and Argos reporting.
  • Eager to learn new static and dynamic reporting as well as data querying technologies including Tableau, SAS etc.
  • Works closely with internal and external stakeholders to identify business intelligence, reporting and data analysis needs.
  • Interprets business requirements and determines optimum BI solutions to meet needs.
  • Partners with IT, campus data analytics liaison and data governance team members to facilitate improvement in collection, storage and documentation of campus data
  • Prepares user guides and conducts training for dashboards\reports for user community
  • Participates in project planning process including inception, technical design, development, testing and delivery of BI solutions.
  • Collaborates with the Strategic Data & Technology Manager to support on-going projects and enhance the functionality of database systems.
  • Analyzes, develops, and maintains quality control in management of advancement information to ensure data integrity.
  • Responsible for the technical projects and activities of Advancement Services in the Manager’s absence.
  • Collaborates with Advancement team members to analyze internal data and processes develop effective solutions driven by business goals and requirements.
  • Maintains an in-depth knowledge of the integrated data and reporting solutions utilized in advancement and stay current on new technology that may enhance Advancement Services’ operation.
  • Serve as project manager for the CRM conversion providing timely and accurate leadership support. Includes setting targets for milestones and managing adherence to deadlines. Delegating conversion tasks, regular project status and serving as the point of contact for conversion team deliverables and project status.
  • Creates and maintains current technical documentation and provide oversight for the development and currency of user manuals and guidelines; present and train end-users on systems utilizing documentation.
  • Drafts and updates policies and processes for internal and external reporting, use of advancement systems, and security of information.
  • Provides Advancement division, campus, alumni and donors appropriate level access to accurate information in a timely fashion.
  • Works as part of a team demonstrating Rollins’ service excellence standards.
  • Acts as a consultant to help teammates and stakeholders gain knowledge from the information provided to support decisions.
  • Collaborates with users and departments to understand their objectives and goals to better insure meeting informational needs.
  • Manages special projects as assigned on a regular basis.
Education and Experience Required


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
  • Requires 2+ years of job-related (advancement or data reporting) experience or relevant post-baccalaureate or graduate degree.
  • SQL experience.
  • Experience in higher education and/or non-profit organization is preferred.
  • Tableau or other BI experience.
  • Database systems knowledge; Business Analysis or related technical experience.
  • Proficiency using Banner Advancement or other similar ERP Systems.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office products preferred.
  • Ability to handle confidential information, maintain and update files with high degree of accuracy, and sensitivity to the importance of stewardship and donor relations.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills; detail-oriented.
  • Experience using a project management approach to communicate priorities and manage time effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; thorough knowledge of business English, spelling, and grammar.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well with donors, prospects, business executives, as well as Rollins faculty, administrators, staff, and students.
