Position Summary:

The Department of Biology at Rollins College seeks to hire an adjunct for the Fall 2021 semester to teach a biostatistics course. The Department seeks a candidate with a strong commitment to teaching undergraduate students and qualified applicants will be dedicated to innovative teaching, building relationships, and are welcoming to opportunities that will allow them to work with a diverse campus and community.

The course will be offered from on Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:30pm to 7:45pm, with a laboratory from 3:30 to 6:30pm of Fridays.

Teaching responsibilities include:

  • Teaching undergraduate students in biostatistics
  • Developing and managing the class syllabus and ensuring that it meets department and College standards.
  • Planning and creating lectures, in-class discussions, and laboratory assignments, with the use of prominent statistical software such as R or SPSS preferred.
  • Grading assigned papers, quizzes, and exams and assessing grades for students based on participation, performance in class, assignments, and examinations.
  • In-person teaching is required as part of this appointment

 Minimum Qualifications

  • Applicants should possess at least a master’s degree in mathematics or biology with a PhD is preferred.
  • Verifiable teaching experience in statistics or biological data management
