Position Summary:

The Department of Business in the College of Liberal Arts at Rollins College is seeking applicants for a visiting position in Economics or Finance at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in August 2022.

The position includes teaching the undergraduate required Finance and/or Economics courses in the Department of Business. The ability to teach other elective courses is highly desirable. Other responsibilities of the positions may include advising, program and curriculum development, assurance of learning (AOL), service activities, general education, and research. The ability and willingness to develop and sustain an active research agenda and output is expected. The willingness to teach evening courses is also expected.

The normal teaching load will be the equivalent of eight courses a year, typically four courses per semester. Rollins College is committed to liberal education and expects all faculty to contribute to the general education programs of the college. Summer teaching may be available through the evening program.

Minimum Qualifications and Education: 

  • PhD degree in Finance, Economics or closely related business area (ABD will be considered).
  • A record of outstanding teaching and a commitment to undergraduate education are required.
  • Demonstrated ability to publish academic articles.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Successful experience with diverse populations.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications and Education:

  • Practical experience is highly desirable.
  • Preference given to PhDs from AACSB-accredited Business Programs.
