Job Summary:

The Parent & Family Giving Officer is responsible for cultivating, soliciting, stewarding, and increasing philanthropy from parent and family prospects to the College, notably through membership in the Parents & Family Council (P&FC). The Officer directly solicits multi-year leadership-level pledges from parents, identifying leadership giving prospects, managing volunteers and the P&FC Council and program, and partnering with Student Affairs to support parent engagement opportunities and strategies. This role will routinely cultivate and solicit $5,000 - $50,000 gifts to the Rollins Annual Fund and increase membership to the Parents & Family Council. They will recruit and manage all aspects of Parents & Family Council volunteer efforts. This position will work closely with the team of fundraisers to encourage, track, and support Parent & Family Council solicitations in other fundraiser portfolios. The Officer must demonstrate a desire to welcome parents to the Rollins community; to help create opportunities for meaningful involvement.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Fundraising
- Manage a specific and rotating portfolio of approximately 150 - 200 current and past parent and family prospects. Personally qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors for ongoing annual support to the College.
- Implement an effective schedule of contacts and meetings; arrange campus visits; and engage College leaders, faculty, staff and other Advancement colleagues in parent and donor engagement activities.
- Plan and manage the successful implementation of parent solicitations, and stewardship programming and events for parents in the Parents Council.
- Use personal visits, peer-to-peer solicitations, direct marketing to secure new, retain, and upgrade annual leadership gifts ($2,500+) and Parents Council gifts ($5,000+) to the Rollins Annual Fund.
- Work with the Executive Director to develop strategic goals for parent giving and work collaboratively with the fundraiser team to coordinate and support leadership and P&FC solicitations and annual gifts to the Rollins Annual Fund.
- Demonstrate effective strategies and utilize best practices in parent fundraising.
- Identify prospects as potential major gift donors for handing off to the major gift fundraising team.
- Record solicitation activities, contacts, correspondence, proposals and strategy plans in the donor database.
- Program Development and Volunteer Management
- Work closely with the Executive Director and the Associate Vice President for Advancement to create and implement strategies for cultivating and engaging the Parents & Family Council.
- Refine and support the P&FC program and its members including recruiting Council members and directing their volunteer efforts in peer solicitations and stewardship outreach activities to other parents.
- Provide high-touch customer service to members of the Parents & Family Council.
- Develop, manage, and execute P&FC communications and marketing plans for internal and external purposes.
- Implement recruitment strategies to elevate the overall philanthropic capacity of the P&FC year-over-year.
- Plan and coordinate all meetings, special receptions and events for the P&FC.
- Work in conjunction with Admissions and Student Affairs for key events.

Minimum Qualifications & Education: |
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.

At least two years of work experience in one-to-one leadership-level fundraising, volunteer management, conflict management, negotiation.
- Demonstrate understanding and successful implementation of volunteer management and solicitation strategies.

- Ability to conduct personal solicitation of leadership-level annual fund gifts and interact with a diverse and sophisticated constituency.
- Demonstrate leadership, take initiative, and exercise good judgement. Strong attention to detail, well organized, excellent at managing deadlines, and a proactive problem solver.
- Be creative, self-motivated, and results oriented. Act independently and as a member of a team, and ability to work collaboratively.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities, including portfolio management, volunteer management, and communications.
- Ability to analyze giving data, identify trends and opportunities, and implement solicitation strategies.
- Ability to handle confidential information, maintain and update files with high degree of accuracy, and sensitivity to the importance of stewardship and donor relations.
- Computer fluency including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn and utilize Slate CRM, PowerBI, and other technology/systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Possess persuasive writing and editing skills with an attention to detail.
- Build and maintain interpersonal relationships with ease. Ability to work effectively with a broad range of individuals including parent and alumni donors, colleagues, campus partners, and volunteers, emphasizing tact, diplomacy, flexibility, collaboration, professionalism, and discretion.

Work Environment:
|
- Campus-based, customer service role in an office environment, offering some opportunity for a hybrid work schedule.
- Regular use of a computer and databases.
- Flexible scheduling and must be willing to work occasional evenings and weekends for Advancement events throughout the year including alumni/advancement events, Alumni Weekend, and Family Weekend.
