Position Summary:

The Department of Health Professions at Rollins College is seeking applicants for two (2) Research Graduate Assistantships in Applied Behavior Analysis and Clinical Science (ABACS). These positions entail assisting Rollins ABACS faculty on tasks related to their research goals and agendas. Research assistants may also periodically assist with tasks for thesis projects, under the ultimate supervisor of a faculty member. Actual duties will depend on the nature and stage of research projects.

Anticipated Employment Dates: 08/23/2021 - 05/03/2022

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Creation of data sheets, data input, and managing collected data.
  • Creation of task analyses for experimental procedures (i.e., session protocols)
  • Conducting literature searches for, procuring copies of, and writing summaries of relevant publications.
  • Actively participating in regular (e.g., weekly or bi-weekly) research meetings with the faculty member and others as necessary.
  • Scheduling and recruiting research participants.
  • Collecting primary or IOA data, in person or via video.
  • Conducting preference, reinforcer, and other types of assessments.
  • Serving as experimenter, working directly with research participants in research sessions.
  • Conducting training for other research assistants/students on a given procedure.
  • Writing sections of research manuscripts for publication.
  • Creation of Figures and Tables for analysis and publication.
  • Other research-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Skill Sets:

  • Enrollment in the ABACS master’s program (students in their final year are not eligible).
  • Continued good standing in ABACS master’s program.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Detail-oriented and effective at multi-tasking.
  • Previous experience with ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) program implementation and/or conducting behavioral or psychological research.

Education Requirement:

The incumbent must be actively enrolled (current or incoming) in an Applied Behavior Analysis and Clinical Science degree seeking program in order to qualify for this position and must remain actively enrolled in a graduate degree seeking program for the duration of their employment in this position. This assistantship is intended for currently enrolled graduate students or individuals whose enrollment into a graduate degree program is imminent (e.g. student has been accepted into a graduate degree program and is awaiting the start classes in the immediate future). Students in their final year of the ABACS program are not eligible.

Additional 
Position Information: 

  • Office environment, some remote work.
  • Expected to work an average of 10 hours per week, including during breaks between semesters. May include evenings and weekends.
  • The stipend for this award will be $10,000 annual stipend per student (paid bi-weekly over the academic year and subject to applicable taxes)
