The Alumni Engagement Department is seeking a creative, driven, tech-savvy, and details-oriented Assistant Director to join their team! The Assistant Director of Alumni Engagement coordinates the development, implementation and execution of new and existing alumni programs designed to foster a lifelong connection between alumni and the College, and to support the student experience. Programming supports the four pillars of alumni engagement: communications with emphasis on digital; experiential virtual/in-person events; volunteerism; alumni giving programs. Major initiatives include RollinsConnect, alumni marketing and communications, senior giving/student philanthropy, Alumni Weekend, Giving Day, partnerships with faculty, Admissions, and Student Affairs including Career & Life Planning.

Primary Job 

  • Collaborate with the Director of Alumni Engagement in planning and implementing alumni programs, activities and events that serve alumni, Institutional Advancement, and College initiatives.
  • Serve as lead manager for RollinsConnect – a new digital alumni platform in development, including launch preparation and ongoing marketing/promotion strategies and tactics to activate alumni on platform; project management of the implementation of modules to enhance functionality/digital experience; coordination/integration of volunteer strategies; data management; day-to-day administration of platform.
  • Write content and implement marketing and communication strategies for alumni events, volunteer, and student/senior giving programming with emphasis on digital communication channels including email, social media, video, texting, and website.
  • Support Alumni Weekend marketing and communications under the leadership of the Director of Alumni Engagement. Manage volunteers and coordinate events for Alumni Weekend.
  • Support the development and production of in-person and virtual events, and the recruitment and management of volunteers.
  • Expand current senior gift program to become a student philanthropy program in partnership with Student Affairs and Annual Giving:
    • Create a culture of giving back amongst Rollins students.
    • Provide annual giving educational opportunities for students.
    • Identify and manage student volunteers to serve as philanthropy ambassadors.
    • Increase visibility of annual giving efforts across campus.
  • Support Giving Day and other student and alumni giving programs marketing and communications.
  • Ensure best practices are developed and deployed while also testing new strategies. Establish, track, and analyze results and outcomes of all marketing efforts to measure success and make adjustments to maximize return on investment of future campaigns.
  • Research best practices and remain current on alumni engagement trends, strategies, and services offered by other institutions. Draft and maintain documentation for business processes and policies.
  • Represent the Division of Institutional Advancement on campus and at various alumni events.
  • Perform other relevant departmental duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2-4 years experience in digital communications, marketing, or event management/communications.
  • Experience employing technology, digital marketing tools, data management and analytics to optimize alumni engagement. Familiarity with relevant and contemporary tools/technologies for email marketing, content management, social media, video, event management, online giving, texting, etc.
  • Demonstrated initiative, creative energy, and ability to manage complex projects or events.
  • Analytical and strategic thinking capabilities with strong planning, project management and organizational skills; ability to set and balance multiple priorities, be an active problem solver, and manage time effectively in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Computer fluency including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to learn and utilize Ellucian Banner database, Argos reporting, Hivebrite (RollinsConnect platform), iModules, and other technology/systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; thorough knowledge of business English, spelling, and grammar.
  • Aptitude for numbers, data, and analysis is essential. Strong Excel skills necessary to manage and fully utilize alumni engagement technologies.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy are crucial.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully and effectively with a wide range of constituents and manage complex relationships; Act independently and as a member of a team, and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Ability to handle confidential information, maintain and update files with high degree of accuracy, and sensitivity to the importance of alumni and donor relations.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working in ambiguous and ever changing, fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity and inclusion.
  • Alumni relations, higher education, and/or non-profit volunteer management experience.
Work Environment:


  • Campus-based position working in an office environment.
  • Occasional evenings and weekends required throughout the year including Family Weekend, Alumni Weekend, and select board meetings.
