Job Summary:

Rollins College is seeking a graduate student to work with the Lord Family Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs for Engagement and Dean of Rollins Gateway to support the work of Rollins Gateway and involvement across campus. The candidate should be interested in working with many areas as this role offers the ability to work with departments and organizations across the Rollins College campus.

Projects and Tasks

  • Supporting the Dean with office and administrative tasks
  • Create a mission aligned environment in Kathleen W. Rollins Hall
  • Supports immediate faculty, staff, and student needs within Kathleen W. Rollins Hall
  • Event and program planning for across campus collaboration
  • Aligning and supporting the work of Rollins Hall Gateway Guides
  • Assist in the management of student staff (between 4-8 students)
  • Promote and support student employees’ professional development and growth
  • Projects and assignments with departments within the Engagement team and Rollins Gateway
  • Assist in program development for engagement across campus
  • Design work for collateral (event & program flyers, brochures, posters, etc. …) and signage
  • Manage the Kathleen W. Rollins Hall social media page
  • Other projects and duties as assigned

General Office Expectations

  • Serve 20 hrs/week from May 2022 – May 2023.
  • Commitment to supporting the growth and development of undergraduate college students.
  • Availability to use personal cell phone to post on social media.
  • Schedule and attend meetings as needed.
  • Respond to emails professionally and within a timely manner with guidance from permanent staff. where necessary, and permanent staff copied to ensure these emails are answered.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and work independently.
  • Must maintain a professional/business work environment.

Minimum 
Qualifications & Education:

 

  • Full-time graduate student in either the Hamilton Holt or Crummer graduate program.
  • Appreciation for and commitment to diversity, inclusion, and equity.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Communication design skills.
  • Well-versed on the Rollins experience.
  • Promote a positive and engaging customer service environment.
  • Knowledge of graphic design (InDesign, Photoshop, Canva, etc.) for creating promotional materials.
  • Demonstrate competence in mentoring and advising.
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity and scale efforts.
  • Experience or willingness to learn marketing; messaging and developing written content for public consumption.
  • Knowledge of Excel and Outlook.
  • Maintain a graduate student cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Abide by Rollins policies and procedures.

The incumbent must be enrolled and active within a graduate degree seeking program in order to qualify for this position and remain so for the duration of their employment in this position. This assistantship is intended for currently enrolled graduate students or individuals whose enrollment into a graduate degree program is imminent (E.g., student has been accepted into a graduate degree program and is awaiting the start classes in the immediate future). Incumbents should be seeking an experiential opportunity in their degree field which may or may not be a requirement for graduation.

Additional 
Position Information: 

Anticipated Employment Dates: May 2022 – May 2023.

Scheduled Hours: 20 hours on campus, based on department needs and student schedule. Preference for in-office availability for at least four days per week.

Work Environment: In-person office environment.
