Job
Summary:

The Office of Academic Advising and Support Services at Rollins College is seeking an Academic Advisor/Success Coach to join their team! This position supports the Academic Advising program by assisting in the case management of students needing academic support and guidance. 

  • Assist with implementing the College’s academic advising programs through individual and group advising.
  • Provide academic advising support to transfer and returning students identified at risk for retention.
  • Assist transfer students in understanding how their previous coursework aligns with Rollins’ requirements and help them develop academic plans that ensure timely graduation.
  • Support returning students by helping them reintegrate into the academic environment.
  • Coordinate proactive interventions based on each student’s unique academic and personal circumstances.
  • Connect students to appropriate campus resources and academic support services.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Academic Advising and Support Services to ensure students receive the necessary interventions and support on time.
  • Work with faculty, staff, and other college departments to provide holistic support and enhance the overall success of students.
  • Stay current on best practices in academic advising and retention, applying this knowledge to support the needs of transfer and returning students.

Minimum Qualifications & Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant work experience in the field of higher education, academic advising, or related fields.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, or higher education.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent communication (written and oral).
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, and students.
  • Proficiency with technology (e.g., scheduling, software, and record-keeping)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the mission of Rollins College.

Work Environment:

 

  • Campus-based, front-facing position, working in an office environment.
  • Work requires visual strain and the use of a computer.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours to meet student needs, including evening hours as appropriate based on the academic calendar. The schedule will be discussed during the interview process.
