Position Summary:

The Department of Business in the College of Liberal Arts at Rollins College is seeking applicants for a visiting position in Business at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in January 2023.

This position includes teaching undergraduate required Business courses in the Department of Business. The ability to teach elective courses is highly desirable. Other responsibilities of the positions may include advising, program and curriculum development, assurance of learning (AOL), and general education. The willingness to teach blended and/or evening courses is also expected.

The minimum requirement is a doctorate in Business or a closely affiliated discipline, preferably from an AACSB accredited institution – ABDs will be considered. Some college-level teaching and practical experience is highly desirable. Candidates must have the ability to develop and deliver curriculum; meet the demands of the position in a timely manner; and assess student learning outcomes. In addition, candidates should have strong oral and written communication and strong interpersonal skills. Preference will be given to applicants with experience teaching finance and/or economics.

AACSB International accredits the undergraduate business programs at Rollins College. The Department of Business offers undergraduate majors in Business Management and International Business.

The normal teaching load will be the equivalent of eight courses a year, typically four courses per semester. Rollins College is committed to liberal education and expects all faculty to contribute to the general education programs of the college. Summer teaching may be available through the evening program.

Minimum Qualifications and Education: 

  • PhD degree in Business or related business area (ABD will be considered)
  • Demonstrated ability to produce academic scholarship
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Successful experience with diverse populations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Preferred
Qualifications:

  • Experience teaching at undergraduate college level is highly desirable
  • Practical experience is highly desirable
  • Preference given to PhD from accredited AACSB University
  • Preference given to applicants with specialties in finance and/or economics
