Job Summary:

The Rollins College Information Technology Department is seeking a creative and results-oriented Dashboard and Reporting Analyst to join their team! This position serves as the technical expert to create views of institutional data related to key functional areas for a diverse population of users. This role will provide data visualization solutions to support institutional data and analytics needs. The position focuses on building and managing dashboards and analytical reports that drive cross functional initiatives related to college business operations and evaluation/research studies. The Dashboard and Reporting Analyst is responsible for the full cycle development, implementation, enhancement, and troubleshooting of dashboards and reports.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identify, design, update, and convert institutional data into high-quality and easily interpretable visualizations related to program development, program evaluation, institutional planning, evaluation of institutional effectiveness, and federal and state reporting.
  • Lead the development and conversion of dashboards to automate data reporting using census and real-time data from the college’s system of records.
  • Perform all aspects of the data visualization process from concept and prototype to design, launch, upkeep, and improvement.
  • Develop and update templates, content, definitions, references, resources, and process documentation related to the publishing of dashboards.
  • Consult and collaborate with data users across the campus as a subject-matter expert to support visualization projects and ensure sustainable and timely project delivery.
  • Create data models for consumption by end users within the data visualization tools.
  • Train users in the effective use of the data visualization technologies.
  • Be a subject matter expert for assisting users with self-service reporting.
  • Administer the visualization tools to include user setup, report, and visualization organization, data model creation, and security.
  • Maintain and optimize existing resources, troubleshoot any end-user challenges as well as use techniques for creative and effective visualization to make improvements/refinements as needed.
  • Collaborate on initiatives such as the data catalog, data glossary, metadata, data governance, and engage in environmental scanning.
Qualifications and Education:


  • Bachelor’s degree in data science, analytics, IT, or related field.
  • One to three years of relevant work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
  • IT experience working in a higher education environment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to present information clearly and in a manner that is understandable to employees of all levels.
  • Strong analytical skills to analyze data and build corresponding reports that translate relevant data points for the college’s operations.
  • Understanding of relational database structure and strategic objectives to extract and organize relevant data for analysis.
  • Understanding of data warehousing models, preferably the star schema.
  • Experience with SQL syntax for querying MS SQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and other RDBMS
  • Ability to assess trends and insight using multiple data sets and large amounts of data.
  • Reporting experience with platforms such as Power BI or Tableau
  • Experience with an ERP system such as Colleague, Banner, and Peoplesoft.
  • Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community, as well as to integrate considerations of diversity, equity, and inclusion into data analysis and reporting.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
Work Environment:
  • Campus-based position with the ability for flexible hybrid scheduling.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and visual strain working on a computer.
