Position Summary:

The Rollins College Department of Theatre & Dance invites applications for a Visiting Assistant Professor beginning in August of 2025 and continuing through May of 2026. We are seeking a theatre generalist to teach Script Analysis, Research for Directors and Dramaturgs, and other courses depending on specialization. A Ph.D. in Theatre or a related field is preferred, as well as experience teaching in a college or university BA theatre program. Additional teaching assignments might include courses such as Directing I and Acting II. The position includes a 4/4 teaching load. All Rollins faculty are also expected to teach 1-2 courses in our general education program each academic year as well.

The successful candidate must demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and working with undergraduate students in a Liberal Arts setting.

Minimum Qualifications and Education: 

  • Terminal degree in Theatre
  • Specialization experience/ability to teach courses such as Script Analysis and Research Methods/Dramaturgy

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Theatre, Performance Studies, or a related field
    • MFA with extensive experience teaching classes such as script analysis will be considered
  • Experience teaching in a college or university BA theatre program
